To Hull And Back (Hopefully)...

Recommended Posts

Sent my HW100 back to Hull Cartridge, well the gunshop did. The stock looked like Wolverine had carved it, HC would not send another stock to the RFD and so I took it back there, they were instructed by Hull Cartridge to send it back. Owned the gun for precisely 17 days and that stock in the sunshine looked like it had been finished by Razor Wire. I now await their verdict.

Should it be unfavourable then the gunshop can have it back. I do not fork out £700 for seconds quality woodwork!

No I did not, it was in a box, the box was opened, contents checked to make sure they were all there and then I legged it as Mary was suffering from a Crohn's disease flare up! We did not even remove it from the bag in the box!

Also the marks on the stock were not over visible in low light, and Country Sporting Guns is not over illuminated at the best of times. When I took it back you could hardly see the marks indoors, Outside though, clear as the proverbial day!

It has just been taken back because I am fed up with trying to get another stock sent to the shop from Hull Cartridge, I have owned the gun just over 2 weeks. Most of whcih has been spent trying to get HC to send a new stock out. I live 40 miles from the shop. I don't want to keep making trips there.

Now as to why it was not examined in the shop, when the driver of the car you are travelling in feels like someone is reaching up through their arsehole in a chainmail glove with optional barbed wire accessories and trying to tear their stomach through that tender orifice then perhaps you will understand. My wife suffers from Crohn's Disease, which flared up just as we got to the shop. It was touch and go on getting back I can tell you. Also when buying a Weihrauch you think that they are quality guns and really should not have hacked stocks fitted as standard. Really you do think that, even though our past experience has taught us that these days the Krauts are capable of producing as big a pile of crap as the Chinese ever were!

You also expect a dealer like HC to be more pro active. Hell if Edgar Brothers staff had given me the same dismissive brush offs that HC staff have then Derek Edgar would have been ripping them new orifices left, right and centre. All in all I am not happy with the gun from manufacture and poor QC to poor customer service at HC!

Shame of it is though is that the gun mechanism is fantastic, bang on for power, superbly accurate. let down by bad attitudes and poor QC, precisely what killed the British car industry.

Perhaps the Germans have now got the British disease....

I know what you mean pal. A lot of gunshops are not lit up like blackpool pleasure beach as it's not in keeping with the general scheme of things so it's very easy to take a damaged item home especially if your in a bloody big hurry!

let's hope you get a good outcome pal. Best of luck.

I once got a hw97kt silver and nickel with a synthetic stock, brand new

and the stock was like a air fix model , bits of plastic all around the stock and rusty screws and i mean rusty

me and viz had to cut the plastic off with a Stanley knife and clean the screws up

and that was a few years ago now

A much nicer looking bit of walnut, this time the RFD and I were able to look over the gun and stock, HC have also done a full QC check on the gun and it has been returned along with test cards...

So are you going to stop moaning now? :D
